    NFL Refs

They are out on strike. I read they make $150k a year on a part time job. Why are they on strike again?

They currently have a kick-ass retirement benefit package, and the league is trying to alter it.

How much do the scabs make? I'd allow the Bills 11 shots on Tom Brady, one per starter. That's right, 11 of the hardest hits imaginable on Tom Brady within five seconds of him releasing the ball.

I hope they never come back and mandate all future crews must be age 25-45 and in shape without a seeing eye dog.

Technically, the refs are not on strike... They're being locked out.

Why? Working 20 days (maybe) was rough on them.

The NFL should have full time ref's and a proper training program. They have plenty of money to make it happen.

The NFL wants to make them full time, the refs don't want that.

The NFL wants to add 2 more crews for substituting/giving a crew a week off, the refs don't want that.

Those are the 2 main issues I've heard.

part of their complaint is when the NFL added the thursday night games, having to leave their normal jobs to do a game during the week is inconvenient, so the NFL wanted to add like 4 more crews to help with the added travel and such which is part of the labor dispute.

Because their normal job is as a Lawyer or CEO. The NFL is like a hobby with pay for them, they don't want it to turn into a real job.

If I made $150k for my part time 20 day a year job, why would I have a normal job?

I worry that the replacement refs will protect players like Brady even more. Brady will whine to the officials and the second he is touched their will be a personal foul on the defense.
