Wood has the green light, let's roll

“Yeah, that should be fine,” said Wood. “I have taken up to that many plays in practice already. Not necessarily in a game-like setting, so it will be a challenge but I think I will be alright. I think we probably approached it the right way—being patient all through camp. My reps increased each week and I feel like I am ready to go.”

Good news...but, I wouldn't be surprised to see Brown get a few plays in this week, depending on the circumstances. Still wish they would have gone after a vet back-up center that could swing to guard, just in case Wood does get injured again.

I'm loving having #70 back.. If he stays healthy, he's one hell of a center for us...

He has to be...there isn't anyone behind him. I cannot believe that we didn't address that. As much as I think Fitzy's ribs bothered him, I think that losing Wood bothered him just as much. It seems like we are really hitching our wagon to Wood being healthy, and he has had some serious injuries...personally, I think that is almost as much of a personel error as not signing an NFL receiver. I know we have oodles of potential, and all of that, but I am tired of our season ending in week 10.

He'll get injured again like he always does, and then what?

I love Nix, but how do you not address that position knowing that our center is injury prone.

Huge mistake that will come back to haunt us yet again, watch.

Urbik is the backup center and he did real well when he filled in last year. We also have good depth at backup RG so we're ok if Wood has a setback.
