Refs want better contract, NFL said no so they are on strike.
Replacements in in place until a contract is worked out.

NFL Players (who were Union, Union, Union and year ago) are strangely quiet on this and are not honoring any picket lines.Comment

Actually, they are locked out, not on strike. The NFL wants a number of concessions from the officials including making them accountable for their mistakes. A very important issue which the officials want no part of.Originally posted by EricStratton View PostComment

In my opinion, the Refs are fighting a battle they can't win. Unfortunately for them, the replacement refs are doing just well enough to keep the NFL away from the negotiating table.Comment

Huge $ savings by paying these scab refs, it should be used to give the old refs a raise.

The NFL is willing & happy to give the refs a SMALL raise. The refs want a BIG raise. And as I said before, the NFL wants to hold refs accountable for mistakes they make on the field which the refs object to.Originally posted by MitchMurrayDowntown View PostComment
