In Atlanta, there is a sense that wide receiver Peerless Price is the deep threat Michael Vick was lacking, and that the Falcons can now contend with Tampa Bay in the division. There are few better fits, New England officials could convincingly argue, than linebacker Rosevelt Colvin plugged into the team's new 3-4 defensive front.
All legitimate possibilities, to be sure, with each player capable of dramatically improving in 2003 the fortunes of his new employer.
But if the aim is to identify a player who will significantly enhance a team's performance on the win-loss ledger, and who dovetails snugly with the existing design, we have a candidate to offer up for consideration as well.
