“I’m fine with it,” said Gailey of his team’s defensive game plan. ”I’ve got complete confidence in Dave and what they’re trying to do and where we’ve got our people situated – and that’s the majority of it, where do you have your people situated? We’ve got our people in the right spots. We’re sound, we’ve just got to continue to get better. We’ve got to be able to stop the run, which we did for two games and we didn’t for two games. I think we’re capable of doing that.”

You've got to be kidding me, Chan. You're fine giving up 52 points? 45 in the second half? 24 in the 4th quarter? You're fine giving up damn near 600 yards on defense?

What's he going to say in public that Wanny sucks and admit he made a mistake 4 games into the season? The scary part is if he really thinks Wanny is doing a good job.

My how fast things can change. I remember all the posts that said are defense should be a lot better since he was our new DC because he was a good defensive coach. He's washed up and another failed retread like Gailey.

I dunno, but if I'm Chan, my statement sounds somthing like this:

"Well, anytime we give up 52 points and nearly 600 yards of offesne, we're obviously doing something wrong. I'm sure Dave understands this and understands that it needs to be corrected. Of course, we didn't help any on offesne by turning the ball over six times. You can't turn the ball over that much and expect to win in the National Football League, no matter how good your defesne is."

It's truthful, obvious to anyone that watches football and doesn't throw anyone under the bus. It also points the finger right back at yourself, for putting the defense in that position 6 times throughout the game.

But, "I'm fine with it" is what Gailey has...?

He had faith in George Edwards too.

They're both going down with the ship, loyal to the end. Can't expect anything else really.

Even behind closed doors Chan is fine with it thats what makes this so frustrating is that he has complete confidence in Wanny.

Chan is an idiot. Some guy on the range saw Wannstadt get escorted into the stadium at ten minutes to one. What kind of horse**** is that?

Does this remind anyone of anything? Chan also has complete confidence in Ryan Fitzpatrick as a quarterback. I heard that numerous times last year. Look at how that's turned out. Both of Wannstadt and Fitzputrid are major reasons why this team will not win more than 6 games this year.

Chan also has complete confidence in the QB leading the league in TOs.

Shades of Gregg Williams getting fired because he stood behind Gilbride's pathetic offense...

Funny how Gilbride has 2 rings now running the offense for the Giants...

Ya exactly.

Bills fans need to just step back and give a coach time to get something done. This team sucked bad. And now they are one of the best offenses in the league.

Just give it time.

Do you REALLY think that things would have been better if Gregg Williams were given more time? Mularkey? Jauron?

I understand that it's hard to get ahead when we start over every 3 or 4 years. But when you pick the wrong guy for the job, it doesn't matter if you give him 10 months or 10 years. He's not gonna get the job done.

This is the 3rd year for Nix and Gailey. That means 3 complete drafts. 3 years of bringing in the FA's that they wanted. 3 years of bringing in their assistant coaches and implementing their system. Where's the improvement? We're still getting destroyed in the division. Not just beat. DESTROYED. No one expected us to be 16-0 on the year, or even 4-0 at this point, but after 3 years, we should at least be more competitive in the division.

Seriously, how much time do you want to give it?

Three years is enough. 2-12 in the division is too much.

And now they are one of the best offenses in the league.
LOL...that's funny. Please tell me you are not going to back this up with meaningless statistics. The Bills DO NOT have "one of the best offenses in the league". That is patently absurd. Good offenses don't turn the ball over like the Bills do.

The Bills offense has been owned in two intradivisional games and got yardage/points in garbage time and they racked up stats against two league doormats. If you honestly think they have one of the best offenses, you don't know football.

Other teams have the same thing, though. at the end of the day they are 11th in yards and 6th in points. Turnovers are the issue with the offense, they can move the ball.

They might even be rated higher, but they don't get to play any games against their defense... LOL.

This will be Chan's demise. The talent is there, it's the defensive scheme that's the issue.

So you are going to stand behind garbage stats too, eh? The Bills can move the ball against lousy teams. The only tough defense they have faced is the Jets. The Pats defense has been blown out by the Cards and the Ravens. I wouldn't consider either of those teams to be one of the best offenses in the league either. The Bills certainly aren't.

So forget about the stats. Do you honestly think the Bills are one of the best offenses in the league.

You act like every team is playing against a top defense every week. All teams pad stats in various situations, it evens out in the long run. I could make an argument for most teams that their numbers don't tell the true story if I wanted to, in either direction.

I don't think they are "one of the best offenses in the league", mainly because the QB turns the ball over so much. They are a good offense though. They were 14th in yards and points last year, so that is slightly above average. They are statistically a little better than that this year. I'm not sure what else you want to use to measure them by other than yards and points.

They can move the ball. Their big problem is their QB turns it over. Very few teams have a RB duo like Spiller and Jackson. The OL has turned into a pretty solid unit. Steve Johnson is a legitimate outside WR. Nelson is a pretty good slot guy. Chandler is a pretty good pass-catching TE. There are a lot of teams with worse offenses out there, and that is with the inconsistent Fitz at the helm. Give them a more consistent QB and maybe another outside threat to complement Johnson and they would be a top-5/10 offense. You can see the progress they have made there, because they were a mess under Jauron.

I understand people are down on Gailey, but he has improved them as an offensive team. It is the defensive side of the ball and sticking with Fitz instead of developing a long-term QB that I would criticize him for.

No. I was merely contesting the claim that the Bills were one of the best offenses. That's ridiculous.

There you go. Thanks.

Nowhere to go up from there. We have an offense that is average at best. The offensive line has been a big improvement. The running backs are elite but seemingly fragile. The receivers are mediocre. The quarterback, indisputably the most crucial element, is awful. On whole, I would say they are a borderline second or third tier offense.

So under Jauron, the offense was awful and the defense was decent. Now the offense is decent but the defense is a load of crap. That's not progress.

Of course Chan stands behind Wannestadt. If he stood in front, he might be hit by the flying produce.

Not exactly. The Pats weren't "blown out" by the Cardinals, they held them to under 250 yards and lost on a missed field goal. As for the Ravens, they unquestionably are one of the best offenses in the league, they are averaging 30+ points and 420+ yards a game. If you will forgive my hyperbole, would you please consider my ultimate point: no way in hell are the Bills one of the top offenses in the league.

If this game were an anomaly, that would be one thing. Everybody can have a really bad week. But it isn't. Two out of the first four games the team didn't even look like it belonged on an NFL field, and that appearance is too similar to the majority of the games the previous two seasons.

Wanny made good adjustments after the jets game. He also did a good job in the first half of the game against the pats. Problem is, when the patriots made the adjustments Wanny had no answer. His gameday adjustments suck.

Another problem is that his players didn't play 4 quarters for him. Our D looked just like his D when he was the headcoach of the fins. They were good early on but could never finish.
