Wanny will implement the 3-1-7 if one of the starting DTs can't go.

I think he's too stubborn to implement anything. He'll just roll with his 4-3 High School defense and put John Potter at D-Tackle.

Spencer Johnson gets the most out of his talent level. I've always liked the guy.

It makes total sense. He knows SF will want to pound the ball so he'll want a lot of guys who can run to the ball very quickly. We better bring some sticks so SF RB's can get out the DB's stuck in the bottom of their cleats.

LOL, that scrub is about as useful as a fat pimple.

So, no OL depth and no DL depth.

But we need 2 place kickers, right? We need Pigpen and Tarvaris Jackson on the roster to not play, right?

Seriously, this team makes some mind-boggling roster choices. Did they really think they'd be able to keep 4 300 lb DT's healthy all season?

Potter is worth his weight in gold. Imagine if we had to tackle all the time on ST the way our defense has been playing

see if you still think that when Frank Gore rushes for 50 yards in the 4th quarter cuz our DT's are exhausted on Sunday.

Even without 2 kickers and 3 qbs, how many clubs would carry 5 DTs? :handball:

How could a club that doesn't blitz and relies on pressure from the front 4 NOT carry 5 DT's?

We need enough DT's for 2 complete rotations in order to keep them fresh. If we keep 4, 1 injury means we don't even have 2 subs. 2 injuries means we have 0 backups and the same 2 guys are going to play the whole game. Either that, or we rotate DE's who are undersized for DT inside. Pick your poison.

That's a fair point. :check:

A busted up D-Line and a busted up O-Line portends bad things for Sunday.

Jim Harbaugh's guys are nasty in the trenches.

He took a culture of losing and turned into one of the hardest minded teams in the league. All in one season.

Gotta admire his success.

Jarron Gilbert woulda been nice about now. He added a decent pass rush in preseason and he can play DT
