View Full Version : This might be the worst defense ever

Granted it's a little short on talent and the execution at times isn't the greatest (piss-poor tackling, etc), but the majority of the unit's failures are on coaching. When this many players are out of position this consistently, that's the scheme, and the reads.

Wannstadt sucks.

We just need to play better.

We just need to play better.

We need coaches that put their players in position to succeed, not fail.

This whole team is a mess. I don't even know where to start.

We rush 4, drop 7, and manage the feat of not blanketin the WRs OR getting a pass rush. It's unreal.

We drop 7 and cover the sidelines. Receivers are open over the middle all day. This blows.

There's just absolutely nothing to like about this D right now. The play soft, they always look lost, and they can't make any type of play whatsoever to save their lives. It's pathetic.

Wish we still had Wade coaching this D.

they were good againt kc and the browns, but so bad the other three that its hard to imagine how they could possibly actually play that bad. the two teams they beat arent very good but id grade them 8.5 of 10 those games, b+. the three losses? literally 2-ish, f-minus-minus-minus, as in epic bad, as in impossibly bad

i havent been one of the wanny haters, his defenses were generally statistically good when he was in charge of them. but yeah not this one. his rope is getting huge chunks hacked out of it right in front of our eyes. that unit needs dramatic improvement against quality opponents. hell, even against the crappy jets. unacceptable. tick tock pornstachio

Dave is in way over his head, that's obvious now with a new defense.

This d just laid down and died.

We are getting less of a pass rush than we got last year. How is that possible?

Our opponents improved for those games?

how does an nfl defense get to the point that just about every play is a long gainer, just about every drive is a touchdown? it seems impossible but we saw it with our own eyes the last two weeks and to a slightly less extense in week one against a terrible suckchez and company. its the impossible nightmare that has come true for this defense

i saw this in week one of this year. i saw this in every single game after we crushed the red skins last year (and i saw this in them last year). we quit. our d quits.

our d is not confident, i think they look up to their coaches as morons with no idea what they are doing. our d players don't like each other, don't trust the o, and think our qb is going to give away the ball.

i'm watching new orleans play right now. the suck this year, but they have fire and they want to win, it's important to them.

it is not important to our players or coaches, particularly on D. dareus said something about it's just a game when asked if he is embarrassed today. i understand he lost his brother, but no one in the world outside of his little town would give a flying fkuc about his dead brother if it wasn't for this game. he got all the tweets and emails and letters from all over for one reason only, he is a great football player.

i think we need to fire our entire coaching staff (more than that, we should put a sack on their heads, line them up and shoot them), and ralph needs to go and buddy nix has sucked *** really bad (i'm happy about stevie, but fitz was a bad signing, mario and anderson have been hot garbage, and gaily has sucked, edwards was junk and stache is even worse), but these players are getting paid more than anyone, and are celebrities, and will only be able to play so many games in their lives. they need to suck it up and play hard and lose rather than laying down and getting ass reamed.

i agree with the idea that it all starts up top, hc, oc, dc, gm, and qb, but just about every player on the bills d (that rook lb from fsu played his butt off tho) were some shameless punks today and need to realize, it isn't just a game. it's a fkn privilege for these idiots to play in the nfl, and for most of them it's the only thing that separates them from the guy who delivers my newspaper.

Exactly. I just can't figure out how it's even remotely possible for a receiver to be WIDE open when 7-8 guys are in coverage. Of course it doesn't help that the front 4 is allowing the QB to go through his progressions while he writes a novel in the pocket. Totally unacceptable.

Last week, 2 100+ rushers and 2 100+ receivers. This week, 300 passing and 300 rushing. We are HISTORICALLY bad. Literally. We're setting records for the worst possible defense.

There was a play in the second quarter where the 49ers came out in the I formation with two WRs to the left. The Bills had 8 in the box to stop the run. The 49ers play-faked, the Bills read it properly and dropped 7 back. Somehow, even though we had 7 guys covering 2 wideouts, they managed to BOTH get open. Smith threw it to Crabtree but it could have just as easily been Manningham. That's when I knew we were going to lose, but I was still shocked at the complete devastation.
