    What happened with Bradham?

He played a lot in the 2nd half. Was it due to an injury? Who was he in for? Barnett? Moats? Can someone fill me in?

I had people over and caught only parts of the second half.

I think he was in for Barnett due to injury.

Didn't he come in because they benched Moats?

All I know is he should not be taken off the field for the rest of the year. This is the type of guy we want to model our Defense after. Someone with intensity who is big and fast and can hit.

i couldn't agree with you more. he was very active and seemed to be the only player making plays

That's the thing about rookies getting their first snaps in the real NFL. They play like their hair is on fire and it's fun to watch.

IIRC, Moats was pulled when he got owned by Vernon Davis for the 3rd time.

If true it could signal that it's only situational where Bradham is way faster. Remember that Davis ran a 4.38 40 at the combine.

Personally, I want Moats on the field. I'd like Sheppard replaced and probably Barnett as well.

Barnett was pretty good yesterday. He had two tackles on the goalline stand getting into the backfield twice. And his forced fumble was great. I've got no complaints with him. He's the only good linebacker on the team.

Vernon Davis is one of the most dominant physical talents in the NFL. When he has his head in the game, he can't be stopped by mere mortals.

That said, covering dominant tight ends was the exact reason Nix used to draft Gilmore and Williams
It was, but it was about more than that as well. Playing in the AFC East twice a year means playing against Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez twice a year and the Bills think Gilmore will help them match up with the Patriots’ dynamic tight end duo. In an interview with WGR 550 Radio, via the Bills website, Bills General Manager Buddy Nix talked about how he expects Gilmore to help them do that.

“We would like to be able to match up against those two guys,” said Nix. “Even though you’re not as big as they are these guys with speed and they’re big enough that they can’t knock them around and push them away from them. It’s a lot harder for them against these bigger corners. Yes, we think he can do that.”

Gilmore is 6’0, 190 pounds and the Bills added another big corner last year when they drafted Aaron Williams. That’s still a good bit smaller than Gronkowski and Hernandez, but it is still an approach worth a shot. The new group of tight ends are too much for linebackers and many safeties because of their speed, so using corners who can at least compete physically could make a difference.
The selection of Stephon Gilmore with the 10th overall pick seemed designed to help the Bills cut down on the big plays to wide receivers that hurt them last season.

We use two extremely high picks on guys to cover tight ends, and then roll out Moats, Bradham, and Scott to actually do it. There is a fundamental lack of communication between the GM and the coaching staff.

Scott does well on the shorter stuff, crossing routes or throws to the outside. Its the seams that kill him, but those kill everybody and are at least partially the responsibility of the D line.
