There comes a point where having a touch as a QB makes a difference, guess how many times Fitz overthrew (not under thrown) his intended receiver. The one tip ball he threw actually made the ball catchable, so that doesn't count.

Quite honestly, I'd rather Fitz overthrow receivers than underthrow them... Overthrows are incompletions, underthrows are interceptions.

Are you counting just overthrow or also underthrow?

I say 12 overthrows.

Just overthrows, (not under throws).

Though not acceptable, overthrows are definitely better than under-throws. He needs to get his timing tuned in. To credit the guy when he is spot on this is a hard team to beat. Fitz can read a defense and feel the pressure with the best of them. But his inconsistent nature is his biggest weakness and lowers him to a below average QB.

As predicted, DC Coyle had the B'gals number.

Smilin' Jack - Marvin Lewis did his usual thing...down 17-13, 3:05 left, 4th and 5 on the MIA 23, he ordered a FG - which missed.

not necessarily true. An overthrow on a mid-range pass can easily become an interception, especially if it's the middle of the field and the safeties are 2 deep. It's the old "center fielder" play.

I don't have the testicular fortitude to watch that embarrassment again.

The bigger question is...how many passes were underthrown? There were quite a bit against the Patriots. :ill:

I try to watch it twice & see where we failed to perform or succeeded & I'll admit that this one was about as rough as it gets. It was almost like watching the first half of a Rocky movie, like all of them right in a row.

I mentioned in the game day thread after the first overthrow to expect Fitz to overthrow a lot of his passes today because of all the poor underthrows he had against NE. He just doesn't have the feel or touch for those longer passes.

I honestly don't remember Fitz being this inaccurate. I knew he wasn't the most accurate, but he wasn't as awful as he is now. I really think that tinkering with his mechanics this offseason was the worst idea ever.

Obviously both of you are right... The thing is, from what I've seen, safteies hardly ever play deep or over the top against the Bills. They know that Fitz can't throw deep and, even if he does, it'll be overthrown by so much that even his receiver can't catch it. Guys like Andy Dalton can and have thrown and connected on deep balls, so the defense plays differently.

When's the last time Fitz actually threw a TD pass longer then 15-20 yards? I'm not talking about where the receiver catches the ball and then makes a move and ends up scoring... I'm talking a legit pass where he hits the receiver in stride for a deep score. The one that I recall is with Terrell Owens against Jacksonville back in 2009. It doesn't happen often, that much I'm sure of.
