NFL may give Costner the green light on a movie called Draft Day. In the movie Costner plays GM of the Buffalo Bills. Sounds like a fictional version of Money Ball.

Costner would play a fictional general manager of the Buffalo Bills, perennially outgunned (and outspent) by downstate metropolitan behemoths like the New York Giants and Jets. Set over the course of a single day, it follows the GM as he parlays the first NFL draft pick (granted to the previous season's worst team) into a series of trades that burnishes the team’s lackluster roster. Along the way, he must deal with his own family baggage as well as some surprising personal and romantic developments.

Bills incompetency, now on the big screen.

What a surprise they pick the Bills of all teams..NOT. The worse team in the NFL over the past 13 years and in the lower end of total spending on players and coaches too.

Can't wait NOT to see it.

I'm assuming this ends with the Bills making the playoffs or even winning the superbowl, putting it firmly in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre.

Believe it or not, there's already a movie out where the Bills win the Super Bowl. It's called "Second String."

If he's playing the Bills' GM in "Draft Day", Costner will draft nothing but defensive backs and running backs. Thus, making it a documentary and not fiction.

SPOILER ALERT: the draft pick will be a bust.

What was that movie where he plays a pitcher throwing the perfect game and has his whole life flash before his eyes in between pitches? It sounds just like that except that it's football. Great, now we can see his whole fictional life before he spends the number one pick on someone like Mike Williams!

I am just guessing here, but if they put Costner in as the real GM, he would probably have the same rate of success as any of the recent Bills GMs.

This may be our team's only chance to win the Super Bowl.

Go Kevin Costner!

I'd rather be trapped in shower with Jerry Sandusky wearing nothing but shoulder pads and a jock strap rather than seei this movie.

Goddamnit, I had my hopes up for a moment that we were getting real change at OBD. Then I had to read the posts.

Dances with Wolves...and wolves...and wolves...and wolves. Thud.

If Costner was a GM, his teams' games would run 6 hours - minimum. :handball:

If they gave a 12 year old a copy of Kiper's draft guide and a Magic 8 Ball to help with the tough decisions, he would probably have the same rate of success as any of the recent Bills GMs.

Actually, we should ALL see this movie.

A fictional dramatization of a Bills Super Bowl win is the closest we will ever get to seeing one.

Wasn't there a crappy made for TV movie that was based on Doug Flutie and the Buffalo Bills in the late 90s, early 00s?

I think it was an ABC Family type flick.

its' following the team for a day in the draft? so again, no superbowl for the bills.

and i'd love to see Kevin Costner do a buffalo accent for select parts of the movie because he wants to prove how good an actor he is and then just speak like kevin costner for the other 90% of the movie.
