New Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam, whose takeover of the team was officially approved Tuesday, will name Joe Banner the team's CEO/president and current president Mike Holmgren will depart the organization within 24 hours, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder.

Haslem has a news conference scheduled for noon and will announce the Banner move, the sources said. It is unknown if Holmgren's status will be addressed at the news conference.

Haslem will close his deal to buy the Browns with Randy Lerner on Oct. 25 but these changes will take place before then.

Wonder if he'll be looking for a coaching gig...

That is like saying the Titanic sprung a little leak.

Shocking.

This guy as a GM/President is an utter failure.

Pat Shurmur won't be long to follow Holmgren out the door.

Terrible GM. What was Cleveland thinking ?

Idiotic owner that cared more about other things than the football organization.

As a GM his record isnt very good. He made Marv look like Polian in comparison.

Of course, it was Marv that started all this nonsense about ex coaches turning into GMs. First him, then Parcells and Holmgren.

Just another example of a guy that continued to get opportunities and make millions because he was lucky enough to coach a HOF qb.

He took Seattle to the Super Bowl and might have won it but for the refs. He's legit.

My thoughts exactly. Did you ever notice how most of the so called genius coaches gm's happened to have a great qb.
