Combination. They don't hold their gaps at all, anywhere. The d-line, the linebackers, no one keeps their gap assignments. Which means there is all sorts of openings for running backs and quarterbacks to break open. The linebackers are some of the worst i've seen at shedding blockers, they're slow and can't cover for **** either. Combine with DBs who can't cover and don't seems to know where they should be, and a passrush that isn't generating a passrush... combined with some really bad tackling and you have a terrible defense.

In short, the defensive coaching staff sucks, the players suck, and scheme sucks (because apparently no one understands it)
