    Can anyone defend Sheppard anymore?

Go back and watch the tape again. Both Chris Johnson TD runs went right by Sheppard who didn't get off his blocks. The guy is not a starter in this league. On the long TD Barnett didn't get off his block either.

Pile jumping, missing tackles, getting washed out, over-pursuing, under-pursuing, out of position... This is not adequate linebacking in the NFL and Sheppard is one of the biggest culprits. It has to be fixed or our defense will be a liability.

I think the problem with our run defense is obvious. Our REs are terrible. Anderson was getting bulldozed and Kelsay is no better. We also have the rookie Bradham on that side who I'm starting to think should start over Sheppard at MLB.

He's a fill and kill backer and being showcased to highlight his weaknesses.

Kirk Morrison isn't dressing and can play MLB welll against the run. Bradham is an OLB and needs the reps. Barnett isn't doing much.

After QB, LB is a crying need 2-3 times over. Then find the right coaches to put them in position to make plays.

Kirk is horrible against the run.

Well he's not filling for **** right now. He's not reading pre-snap keys, and he's not seeing the play develop. He's playing a read and react style that has him a step slow and a dollar short.

my only defense for him is that hes in a scheme that acts like a glove and trys to catch everything

              never on attack.

i dont think hes a player but who the **** could be in this scheme at MLB

He's playing a read and react style because he's being coached to.

                duh.
