View Full Version : Schiano takes a shot at Buffalo

Players voted Schiano the coach they'd least like to play for in a Sporting News poll. Schiano was asked about this, his reply:

61 guys. That’s the only ones I care [about]. The ones back in that locker room. Now if they voted, ship them off to Buffalo or something.”

Guy's a douche, but it does highlight the image problem this franchise has, NFL Siberia.

I pride myself in my NFL knowledge, and I find it funny I had to google which team he coached for.

That's not even a shot at the players, the coaches, or the record, that's just disrespect to the whole franchise. **** him.

I have a buddy that lived in Tampa and he hated the place. Total **** hole according to him.

I liken the whole city of Tampa to Satan's gooch. Nothing but strip malls of the same stores over and over again, the food is as bland as a lunch from a hospital cafeteria, and the people there are either senior citizens or backwards white trash.

Clearwater is nice though.

Also, is anyone surprised? The Bills are the joke of the NFL. It's only going to get worse with the idiot GM at the top and Failey as the head coach.

Actually, I laughed at the comment.

On a side note, my sister was transfered to Tampa for 5 years back in the 1980's and hated it there. She transfered back to WNY when an opening popped up. I must admit I wasn't impressed with the area. Looked like a warmer Ghetto.

I visited Tampa once it was a nice place from what I saw.

Is anybody really taking Schiano seriously? This is same ass hat that forced his DL to bullrush the NYG when Eli was trying to take a knee.

The whole of Florida is about the same. It's flat as can be and the rep it has for being so beautiful is undeserved in my opinion. We went on a cruise last year on a lark and shipped out of Canaveral. Cocoa Beach (you know, I Dream Of Jeanie) is disgusting. And we went to St. Augustine last winter. Not much better (though I did find a Buffalo bar with the Sabres game on).

Let's face it people: this franchise is a joke.

Boomer Esiason once said that the three teams he played for- Cincy, AZ and NYJ were the "Bermuda Triangle of the NFL," but all of those teams have been better than Buffalo lately. We used to be able to say "at least we're not Cleveland or Detroit," but Detroit has stepped it up, and on the field we've been as bad as Cleveland (and they had to start over from scratch just 10 years ago).

Looking at the past 12 years, where is an NFL player least likely to have a good coach? Buffalo. Where is an NFL player least likely to get a big contract, either as a FA or being re-signed? Buffalo. Where is an NFL player least likely to win? Buffalo (longest active playoff drought in the league). So if Schiano or someone else is going to make a crack about shipping players off to a garbage team, guess who's at the top of the list?

I know, I'm not saying anything new here. I know, I'm repeating all the negative stuff that we already know. But here's the point: don't get pissed at Schiano or anyone else for taking shots at the team. Get pissed at Ralph, Russ Brandon and Buddy Nix for creating a situation where this team is the easy and logical target.

I wonder what's up with him. I didn't study his career, so to speak, when he was at Rutgers. IIRC, he was well-thought of there, and had a good reputation around the Big East conference. Seems like this NFL gig has swelled his head - dunno.

Not a surprise, and you could even say it's well earned. This team has been bad for such a long time period that a lot of people outside of being a Bills fan just don't understand how this team even has a fan base to speak about. JMO

every place has it's pros and cons. Buffalo is just easier target because of the weather .
