Improbable is a word that seldom, if ever, has been used to describe the Bucs' Super Bowl title run. A breakdown of their running game makes one wonder why.
In 2002, only one other playoff team (Indianapolis) saw its ball carriers get stuffed behind the line of scrimmage more often than the Bucs, whose runners lost yardage on 54 of their 414 attempts (13 percent).

Only six teams - and that group includes Dallas, Carolina and Houston - compiled worse negative rushing percentages last season. But the Bucs' status as something of a Super Bowl anomaly doesn't end there....
