Ravens: Mike Singletary, the Hall of Fame linebacker, is wet behind the ears as a position coach. Yet already, his colleagues and players like what they hear.
Standing before nearly 30 people inside The Charles Theatre, Mike Singletary transforms himself from Ravens linebackers coach to movie critic. It is the first weekend in May, and Singletary is bantering with the gathering about his all-time favorite movie - Shenandoah.
As is the case when Singletary talks, all eyes are on him. Despite having not critiqued a movie for an audience before, Singletary knows how to capture a crowd after 10 years of traveling around the country as a part-time motivational speaker. After an introductory analysis that has as many dramatic pauses as a soap opera scene, Singletary becomes ever so slightly choked up.

He must really be a serious movie buff to go see a film at the Charles. They usually only get art house type films there. The place is a dive and the sound system really sucks there. Too bad, because some of the films they show are good, just not your typical Hollywood shoot 'em up, car chasing, everything exploding film.
