View Full Version : Johnny Manziel
If he declared for the draft and we got him, I would be ecstatic! Any chance this happens?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe he's even eligible to declare. I thought players had to be at least in their 3rd year of eligibility before declaring.

I asked Maurice Clarett about this and he confirmed what you stated.

Can we draft him and send him to the Amerks for development?

He'll come out just in time to take over for Brady. Yay.

I'd still take him right now over Fitz

Even if he was eligible Manziel's stature is an issue, I know people will comment about Russell Wilson but he's the exception not the rule plus there's no guarteed he'll have long term success.

Well we know Fitz isn't bringing any long term success either.

I thought they changed the rule because of Clarett

No, he lost that lawsuit and had to sit out a year with his thumb up his butt.

Hellzyeah. He's 10 times better. Fitz is a piece of garbage.

I think we should "mail it in for Manziel" until the 2015 draft.

He'll be ready by 2014, and will most likely declare if he keeps playing at this level.

I don't think college years have anything to do with being eligeble... I believe it's 2 years removed from what would be high school graduation.

It is 3 years from high school graduation. Manziel would be eligible after his redshirt sophomore season, which is next year.
