Owner with no family desire to continue in town. Check.

Coach that an elderly retread that made us below average. Check.

Marketing department with a captive audience but without anything to sell. Check.

Stadium that's crippled by age & any reasonable amenities equal to a row house ready for tomato pickers in South Florida. Check.

Town that lost it's luster 30 + years ago & expanded most social services / bus routes into most major suburbs. Check.

Socialist state of politics that pays most of it's money for previous corruptions allowed by the entitlement systems. Check.

I'd safely say when the Bills get sold to the highest bidder, the proud remnants of our past will explain through excuses how they tried to make all of it happened but they couldn't succeed over outside forces of wealth attributed to simple economics. The town is gone, most of what's left is people trapped by tradition or their own selfish entitlements that they're unable to give up.

Please land at the Buffalo airport & drive in any direction for 10 minutes, it's a time-warp circa 1972 at best. I'd blend it with a bad trailor park & an alcohol addiction, minus money outside of federal support to pay for it.

Until the collection agencies find a better place to pull near college high school grads for their perverse work, I'd say it's well past spot on.

I grew up in the land of the crab apple, Cheektowaga. I lived on crumbs thrown from the misc industry left through Bell in Tonowanda, Dad having a decent job off & on. Union watched his job title changed & called it fair on the layoff, all the while taking pieces of his paycheck away from our family. The support along the way was limited was limited to blocks of cheese & powered milk on occasion, painful way way to remember my childhood.

Maybe some of you witnessed success in town without any future retribution, situation willing. I didn't. I never asked for variance in my life based on my time as an adult. I never apologized for my time, nor will I ever concede an individual event that changed my personal being, besides my Mom passing.

I'm not asking for forgiveness or apologies for my past, future come what may. Every town based on levels of success & shortcomings come around to a new way of an finding their way, Buffalo didn't. We lack the inter-lake commerce that put us on the map, conceding events much greater than the sum of its parts. When the events strip most of the parts away, you find solace in only realizing those events & being able to accept them.

Our town is lost in believing better times are near, cast being inept to make a difference along the way. You guys might find a belief that our current predictiment is fixable, it's not based on scale. Our town doesn't buy enough of the products sold on the TV, the money doesn't flow. The money you can still see is hidden outside of the realm of local reality, based on a society that beats to a comfortable drum.

I suggest a visit to where I live now, see where the money resides. I harbor no ill will to anything Buffalo related, it's just small dream tweaking based on a main scene you live. Trust me in the fact that home is where the heart is and the money flowed away many years ago, the rest is residual of the flush.

Just because you don't like what he's saying doesn't mean isn't the most logical scenario. I might not feel as sure of it as MitchSkoobyDoo, but I definitely think the Bills leaving is a pretty likely future that would take some sort of secret miracle to come out of the woodwork to reverse.

The current business model is cheap seats, that doesn't justify a $1.5 Billion dollar local investment (Stadium / team purchase). We also haven't placed a playoff product on the field in ~13 years, so to think people will pay much more than what they pay now is difficult to fathom ($58.36 now). Any decent ROI is a long-shot, like a 50-1 shot. Those normally don't come in, like ever.

You're an idiot. People will pay for more for more.

Keep it civil will ya? Attack the post. Not the poster. For god sake, we are all brethren in the eyes of the Holy Trinity: Jimbo, Bruce, and the Thurmanator.

A rather harsh evaluation of Buffalo with some elements of truth. However, it is what it is. The community has gone a long way down in my lifetime. The poor political climate is a principal factor. Politicians are more worried about their jobs and the people they favor. Promises from Albany are just that at this moment.
