Michael Vick in 06 actually had less carries to 1k yards too, so Spiller would be 2nd among backs.

Chicago Bears RB Beattie Feathers, almost 80 years ago (78 years).

OJ Simpson took approx. 170 carries to hit 1,000 in 1973 when he gained 2003 yards, he averaged 6.0 yards per carry that year. Good thing Gailey wasn't the Bills coach back then, OJ would of ended up with about 1,100 yards instead of the 2,003.
