“I think that Toronto series has turned into pretty much a joke,” Wood said, via Tim Graham of the Buffalo News. “I think they started it hoping that we’d have a lot of fan support in Toronto. We have none.

“You’re making a team from out west travel, and then you give them the comfort a dome, and you don’t make them play in our stadium,” Wood said. “We have no home-field advantage allowed. We travel, too. I just think it’s a joke.

“And it’s a bad atmosphere for football. I mean, nobody wants to play there. I guess for opposing teams it beats the hell out of going in somebody else’s stadium and dealing with a bunch of crowd noise.

“I don’t think it’s turned out they way we wanted, and I hope we don’t renew it. That sucked.”

The new deal is through 2017.

I was super pumped for the Toronto series. When they announced the waiting list raffle I was so hopeful that I got picked. But just in case I talked to a bunch of season ticket holders here about using their "rights". Then the ticket prices were released and I hesitated. The tailgating policy was finally answered and it was clear what a massive ripoff it was going to be.

Real fans weren't going to pay that. Real fans wanted to tailgate, and scream, and cheer. Real fans wanted an experience like the Ralph. Real fans were going to stay home. That left corporate buyers and opposing team fans, or casual football fans. So the atmosphere would be awful, like the first period of a Leafs game in March.

The only way it gets fixed a little bit is if they can improve the game day experience by allowing and encouraging tailgating. And I don't see that happening.

There was a preseason game in Mexico City a while back. I know Dallas was one of the teams, and I think the other one was either Houston or Arizona.

It rained like hell and the field turned into a giant mud puddle.
