Mid-January if at all.

If anyone still cares. I won't be purchasing Center Ice this year, the NHL has lost my interest for at least this year.

What if it's $50?

I might consider it. Just thinking about hockey pisses me off. I don't see the Sabres having some sort of magical run I'd regret missing this season anyway.

The way it looks now, this season is in the toilet and I don't see next season starting on time. Unless one of these two figures out what they are going to lose (or already lost) as opposed to what they are going to gain. However, I do believe the NHL is now going to sit and wait, give the NHLPA a deadline and the players will take what they can get and not lose the season.

How many games are they down to now, 40?

I dont know how they could start now. A 40 game season? For the guys playing abroad it probably won't be a big deal but what about the guys who aren't playing? It would take them at least 10-15 games just to get into shape.

NBA had this exact problem after its lockout. Quality of play suffered badly.

Hell even the NFL suffered in 2011 after just the loss of pre-season. After a month or so the level of play came back, but if they do somehow manage to get a season together, we can expect the first 15-20 games to be pretty ugly.

During the first Bettman lockout, they got a 48 game season together, starting in January I believe. I really don't see them going any less than that. If it reaches a point where they can't get in 48 games, they'll just cancel the whole season. And at this point, that seems like the most likely outcome.

**** Bettman, **** the owners, **** Donald Fehr and **** the NHLPA.

I understand that the players want to get what they deserve and that the owners do have revenue issues, but I can't imagine the old CBA being so bad that it's worse than no hockey at all.
