When the final whistle blows on Sunday’s game with the New York Jets it will officially mark the conclusion of a 13th consecutive season where the Buffalo Bills have failed to make the playoffs. In that time frame the Bills have gone through four head coaches and may be ready to run their fifth out the door as early as Monday. So what will Black Monday have in store for the Bills and their beleaguered fan base? There are four possible ways I see this thing going.

Nix is going to want another good ole' boy at coach, that's what is going to get him fired.

You left out the worst case scenario...Nix stays, Gailey gets replaced by Norv Turner, they trade for Rivers and the team takes a RB with their first pick in the draft.

That would be scenario 4.

The biggest problem may be that there just aren't any QBs to take at 6-11, none later on & there isn't a veteran out there worth picking up. Buddy screwed the pooch when he didn't look for a QB in either of the last 2 drafts when there was an abundance of talent in rounds 2 & 3 that we may not see for another decade. One of the main reasons we haven't seen any playoff games is because it seems that no matter who is in there, they look so myopically at the draft they are light years behind the rest of the league. We always end up targeting a position in the wrong draft. 2007 draft a RB with Revis on the board. 2008 draft a CB with Chris Johnson on the board. Last 2 years, plenty of good QBs available, this year we're targeting a QB when there might not be any. In the 21st century, a team cannot look at one draft at a time-they have to look at the draft with 2-3 year views. If you anticipate a need a year or 2 from now, if the draft is rich in talent you don't wait until the need has to be filled if the immediate future drafts look weak at that position. Also, these guys have no idea where players will be picked and Buddy keeps thinking that a good player will be available later in the draft & always seems shocked when another team drafts him a round or 2 before Buddy anticipated he would go. If you like a good player & have confidence in him, you don't play games-you make sure you get him in the draft instead of continually being shocked he got picked in the 3rd when you planned to draft him in the 5th. Buddy deserves a nice retirement, not an office at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Also fire every friggin scout & get guys in there who know what they're doing!

You can't look back and say "man we should have grabbed Revis or Johnson". There is no guarantee that they would have flourished in Buffalo like they did with their teams.

Nix is begging to be fired before Gailey IMO.

Like cookie has pointed out.. Nix has spent 3 years rebuilding the defense and spent a boatload of the old man's money this past offseason in a desperate attempt to finish off the job. This defense is AWFUL... Definitely one of the worst in franchise history with some league wide recognition thrown in too.

not to mention... If u blame Gailey... Well who the f hired Gailey?

Nix's Bills are no better than when he took over. He needs to go first.

Agree with Albany. They really need a fresh set of eyes with someone picking the right people early, instead of projecting them in certain rounds and missing out on them. It's cost us plenty on draft weekend.

Of course, it means little if you pick a coach who can't win.

I think something happens Monday no doubt!
I can see the whole staff getting canned.
Polian Is a wild card in this IMO....
Hearing his name quite a bit again. But who knows should be an interesting next few days!

I'll take scenario 3.

Nix is demoted, Whaley is promoted, and Cowher becomes our HC.
