Despite the persistence of his suitors, veteran wide receiver Antonio Freeman continues to exercise deliberation in deciding his future, and likely won't determine where he will play for the coming season until just before training camps open leaguewide.

"He's still looking at the options out there," agent Joel Segal said. "He's in shape and is ready to go to camp. It's just a question of which camp."

Unlike many veteran players still in the unrestricted market and without jobs, Freeman continues to draw interest from at least three teams. The eight-year veteran played in Philadelphia last year (after spending his first seven seasons with Green Bay) and proved to be an effective No. 3 wideout. Only five No. 3 wide receivers in the league had more than Freeman's 46 catches....

For those franchises still in search of an offensive playmaker and, more importantly, legitimately in search of a Super Bowl championship in 2003, free agent wide receiver Antonio Freeman offers this message: He thinks he can deliver both.

One of the few standouts remaining in the pool of unrestricted veterans, Freeman has spent the spring and summer monitoring roster comings and goings, trying to discern the best place to continue his career. Freeman, 31, could have signed a contract long ago but, with more than enough cash in the bank, he has opted for deliberation over desperation.

Even with the start of the regular season looming, Freeman won't consider just any offer and continues to be choosy about the franchises on his mental short list....

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Antonio Freeman has re-signed with the Green Bay Packers, who waived him last summer but began courting him when three of their top four receivers were injured in the season opener.

Agent Joel Segal said Freeman signed a one-year deal Wednesday morning.

The Packers were vying for Freeman's services with several other teams and apparently had to guarantee a good portion of the contract to lure him back to Green Bay, where he played from 1995-2001....
