Browns looking at Whaley and Caldwell

Gonna be an interesting couple of days...

The Browns will begin interviewing GM candidates soon. The list might include Buffalo's Doug Whaley, Arizona's Steve Keim and Jason Licht and Kansas City's Jay Famer.

What is it that Whaley does for us? Evaluates defensive personnel?

I'm not sure why any team would want to hire anyone associated with this ****show.

The same reason other teams pick up some of our former players and coaches and have success with them. Not everyone in this organization is a f-up.

Back when Ralph hired Nix, Whaley's name was floating around as one of the hot, young GM canditates, I'm sure he still is considered as such by NFL pundits.

sorry and thanks... didn't see it elsewhere but it is definitely news worthy. I really hope we don't lose Whaley unless we have some major coup planned, which I doubt. Maybe this will convince Ralph to put a succession plan in place for Buddy... somewhere between a 4-16 months to turn the reins over to Whaley.

Good, that might mean that, if the Bills want to keep Whaley, they might have to promote him, which increases the chances of Nix being gone, either through resigning or being fired.

The only GM that's gonna keep Gailey is Nix, so if Nix is gone, so is Gailey. No other HC is gonna want Fitz, so he's gone as well in this scenario.

Hope the Browns ask to talk to Whaley ASAP... It'll force the Bills' hands that much quicker.

                -Bill

The Browns can ask to talk to Whaley, but the Bills don't have to allow it if Whaley is under contract & they don't want to let him go. After the Bucs Super Bowl year, a number of teams wanted to poach Bucs Coaches. The Bucs would not allow that to happen & refused all teams that wanted to talk to their Coaches.
