From ESPN Insider...

http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/features/rumors/_/date/20121231#19089

Says Nix appears to be safe... speculates on Chip Kelly... pitches hiring Roman and acquiring Smith... also mentions Norv, Reid, Lovie (says he now jumps to the head of the line), Zimmer, Mel Tucker and Mike Nolan as possibilities. Nothing in here from a source, just throwing out options. Not a word on either Gruden. Take it for what its worth.

Not sure why Jack Del Rio doesn't get more love. He did seem to get the most out of his players in Jacksonville. And if there is one team (other than the Raiders) with worse ownership in the NFL, it is the Jacksonville Jaguars (at least, under Weaver).

LOVIE!

Lovie will probably be interviewed by evey team looking for a new HC because of the Rooney rule.

Oh Dios, por favor no dejes que los proyectos de ley contratar a Norv Turner como entrenador en jefe!

What is the obsession with Alex Smith? I don't get it.

I'd be OK with Roman. Also think guys like Lovie Smith deserve a look, but I'd like to know who he'd hire as OC.

Why would we want Lovie Smith as HC?

Anyone listening to WGR, it's hilarious. 10 minutes of commercials and awful commentary. Hope we get a new group soon, and still better than Pittsburgh radio.

LOVIE!
Say no to Lovie Smith, unless you want another Dick Jauron.

The guy SUCKS. I've watched Chicago for years. Bears fans all wanted him gone.

The options right now should be two:

Jon Gruden
Bill Cowher

If we can't get either:

Reid
Maybe Smith

If we can't get any of the above:

All the rest

Why not Lovie? He's been to the Super Bowl (even with Rex Grossman). He's got, I think, three division titles in his time as HC, and an overall winning record.

Dont forget about Ariens and Zimmer who are in the playoffs and wont interview until their season is done.

I'd take a Lovie/Riviera reunion with a top OC.

Because they miss Dick Jauron.

Until Gruden and Cowher are solid no's, they should be the focus. Beyond that, there are about 8 guys I wouldn't mind being the next coach of the Buffalo Bills.

Hilarious all these posters claiming Lovie Smith is another Dick Jauron. Jauron had one winning season in 8 seasons of being a HC.. Lovie Smith made it to a Super Bowl.. Yeah Dick Jauron is not a good comparison people

3 of the coaches fired today have been to a Super Bowl. Wisenhunt, Smith and Reid.

It wasnt my intention to make a case that Lovie Smith is a great HC but he has a better track record than Dick Jauron

Dick led the Bears to a division title in his 3rd year there as HC.
And do you really want to completely overhaul the D again?
Do you like Lovie's sideline demeanour?
How about avoiding the good ole boy coaching carousel for a change and find the next great guy who has yet to make a name for himself as a HC.
