Jason La Canfora‏<s>@</s>JasonLaCanfora Browns did interview Whisenhunt, as ESPN 1st reported. Bills will talk to Lovie, as WGR reported, but BUF would have 2nd meeting w/Whis too

Must be a lull day today. I supposed everything goes into motion tomorrow - Kelly, then onto Devnver, Chicago ...

A 2nd interview? This better be nothing more then a hopeful plan of hiring him as our coordinator and not as our HC after he fails to get another HC job elsewhere. I'd gladly take him as a coordinator.

I know Chris well from working with him for 2 years, and he just wouldn't throw stuff out there. Don't know exactly how connected he may be though

Nothing wrong with Ken Whisenhunt.

Nothing wrong with Ken Whisenhunt.

Other than the fact that his teams went 18-30 after Warner retired. Chan Gailey's Bills were 16-32 over the same span.

I forgot to even mention Holmgren and Reid out of them coaches. That makes half of the 18 coaches in the past 12 years that are without a job. At least Holmgren had many years of success as a coach but nothing after that season and Andy Reid will end up with another HC gig.

That's not a very good stat when your basis for determining a good HC is if they have been to a SB. It's the coaches that can have sustained success for years even after most of the players are no longer there.

Nothing wrong with Ken Whisenhunt.

Other than his win loss record post Warner, his inability to do anything with any qb not named Warner, guy is not the answer.

There are a lot of good coaches that can't win with substandard QB talent.

Wisenhunt is 1000000000000000000000000000000000 times the coach Chan Gailey is/was. Not easy to win games in the NFL when you have zero running game and your QBs are leinart, max hall, derrick anderson, john skelton, kevin kolb, ryan lindley, and brian hoyer...I'd take him in a second and he is immediately our best coach since Wade.

even if this guy is our backup plan its still not the worst decision in 13 years....i think this time he will know to get a qb (thats the gm job anyways) and we already know nix wants to get a qb.

problem i have with him is he was very average in a below avg division while we sucked in a solid div (pats + jets) been to alot of afc champ games while gailey was here

I'm not a Whisenhunt as HC fan. I truly hope this doesn't go anywhere. But you think of the Steeler connection and the Bills did interview him first, he certainly tops their short list. I'm going to have to prep myself for this one.

I have a subject for your deep thinking graduate paper on the NFL for you : "The link between wins and losses in the NFL to QB performance"

Send me the rough draft when it's ready, would you?

Well whose fault is that? You make it sound as if he had no say in any of those personnel decisions.

I think we should start bracing ourselves... I think Whiz is probably the choice. Even with a losing record at Arizona.

John Fox, Tom Coughlin, Andy Reid, and Lovie Smith all had winning records when they got fired.

I'm trying to find an example of a guy who had a losing record but then turned it around. To be fair Whiz has only had 2 losing seasons out of the 6 he was there.

Marvin Lewis was never fired from a previous job but still has a losing record and is going to the playoffs.
Leslie Frazer is another
Mike Shanahan has a losing record with the Skins but a winning record before that

Belichick! Since people love to throw his name around, I figured I'd be first.
