Good pick up for the Browns. They are a lot closer to being a decent team than most realize.

I still can't figure out why we bothered to interview him when both said it was a token gesture.

Solid defense, great offensive line, talented back. They have young un-devolped talent everywhere.

I really hope we don't miss out on him... this is our best chance to get this thing right. Pull out the stops, Brandon and Co. Oh, and please make Tim Graham look like an idiot. Reading his twitter page is like sitting at a cafeteria table in a middle school.

Oh well never expected him to come here anyways. This team has Wiz written all over it. we might as well convince ourselves now that it will be a good fit.

Yeah, he's going to have a ton of tools and talent to work with.

Perhaps to tell him that Buffalo was a great city before 1970.

good for them and i think us. I was not interested in a coach without the nfl experience. Chip MO is a unic Offense, and that O will not work in the NFL

I'll be interested to see who he rounds out his staff with. If he loads up on NFL experience and results, bad for us...if he brings his Oregon staff with him, bad for the Browns.

Regardless, my gut feeling still is he pulls a Saban/Spurrier and is back in the college ranks by year #3 of his contract.

I think Cle will give him total say on who he wants to bring in player and staff wise he should do pretty good as long as its ran his way good hire for the browns happy for them.

That's exactly it. He's gonna be given as much power as he wants on players and assistants with a figurehead GM in place. If there's even someone who gets a GM title. Lombardi might come in with the title of Director of Pro Personnel as opposed to an actual GM.

I am married to a Steelers fan. I see a lot of Browns games. If you mean the great tandem of Weeden/McCoy handing off to their only weapon then yeah, their "really good, young talent" gets the job done. It's a 22 man league, not one good RB. And don't say that Fujita, Haden, and Rucker are strong pieces to a defense. I will literally laugh.

So much is up in the air when it comes to the Browns, whose new owner (Jimmy Haslam III) will most likely make changes in the front office and on the coaching staff. One thing is certain, though: Cleveland has some very good, young players on defense and offense. With a ton of rookies, including running back Trent Richardson and receiver Josh Gordon, the Browns are the youngest team in the NFL. (Quarterback Brandon Weeden is also a rookie, but he's 29 years old.) Joe Haden, meanwhile, is one of the best young cornerbacks in the league. Since starting the season at 0-5, the Browns have shown nice promise, winning five of their past nine games.

I think Weeden is good, though he's not great. Regardless, I think the Browns are still in good shape, because their offensive line and running backs are pretty good. Cleveland can be a tough place to play, with the weather and wind coming off Lake Erie; historically, Browns teams have needed to win with a good running game. The bottom line is, while I expect Weeden to get better, Cleveland can win with a serviceable quarterback. It also doesn't hurt that Weeden's backup, Colt McCoy, can succeed if he has talent around him.

Of course, many things depend on who winds up coaching, but the team should have the cap space to add help in the offseason, and could wind up with a top-10 draft pick, as well. Plus, the AFC North is not going to be as strong as it's been lately, with the aging Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens both descending. The Browns have a chance to be pretty good.

That's great, I've watched every Browns game played over the past 6 years.

Smart guy. The only people who aren't aware of what they're building are those who aren't actually watching them week-in-and-week-out. Some people are just football stupid, it happens.

Rumors starting to materialize that Kelly ONLY interviewed with Cleveland and was still with him as of 7pm.

In case you didn't catch that Kelly didn't even interview with Buffalo.

To add insult to injury some speculate that Kelly has consulted long time friend Belichick. 3 hours into the Cleveland interview, Philly requested permission to interview Bruce Arians. Eagles throwing in the towel on Kelly?

It still is the most likely outcome. He met with Cleveland yesterday, the Bills last night and the Eagles today. He is meeting with Cleveland again at 7 PM tonight, and they probably nail down a contract then.

Lol. Every team is building something. It doesn't always work out. I'm not saying this wont. But the argument that they are building something good remains to be seen. The Browns have some things to work with, I'll give them that. But nothing is for certain. An optimistic fan always hopes for the best. But you need to be realistic too. And in my opinion Chip Kelly is high risk high reward. And I don't feel like the Browns are fit for him. What do they have that fits his system? A speedster running back? A fast qb? They have a good line and a power running game. Not exactly his forté

It's sure a world of difference between dealing with youngsters who all but salute when spoken to, and dealing with adults on the job, with a strong union, who have the public's ear.
