You could reincarnate Vince Lombardi and hire him as Bills coach. People would still complain saying he is too old for today's NFL. There is success and failure stories in every example from hiring college coaches to hiring coordinators as coaches to hiring retread coaches. Depending on where you stand you can find examples on both sides of the fence of success and failures.Truth is no one knows how Marrone will do. Two years from people will come out of the wood work saying I told you so...

No, this is a move that is so bad that it makes Ken Wissenhunt seem like a good idea. This is a guy who turned bad into mediocre. This is a continuation of 13 years of fail.

I've come to the conclusion that some fans have developed an actual need to complain about the Bills. It's. like a psychological disorder at this point. There's no explanation for someone to continuously complain year after year and keep coming back for more. It's like battered wife syndrome.

Is comical isn't it . I've seen people *****ing about not interviewing enough people and some people say they should have only interviewed one person, etc.
and the ones that get me are the ones who can tell the future without a doubt. That their opinion is right and anyone who has another opinion is wrong

No.

To be fair, I don't know much about Marrone. But ever since Gregg Williams, I've always wanted someone with a successful NFL HC resume and this org just won't do it. Gailey and Jauron had previous NFL HC experience but it was hardly successful.

Given the Bills' recent history, it's easy to dismiss anything they do as cheap and bad. If people want to do that, fine. No skin off my nose.

I'm willing to give Marrone a chance and see what he does as HC. He could very well fail, but I don't like assuming that he will even before he's hired a single coach to his staff.

It's the same old thing: there is a difference between hope and expectations. I hope Marrone turns into the next Tom Landry but I have no reason to expect that.

Who was the last college HC to come in and tear up the league? And don't say Pete Carroll- remember his disastrous stint with the Jets? Remember Steve Spurrier? Nick Saban? For every Jim Harbaugh there are at least 3 of those types.

I know what the negatives of Marrone seem to be, as well as the apparent positives. I don't really care about arguing about those or telling you what you should hope or expect. If you want to expect disaster, fine. I personally don't have any expectations yet. There's a whole offseason's worth of decisions that he will make that will help me form my opinion about the upcoming season as well as Marrone's tenure in general.

what reason do you have that gives you the confidence that morrone will turn it around?

i mean, what has he done? does it mean he wont? no. just means, i have no reason to think he will until he actually does it.

I honestly don't have a problem with the hire as long as the word patience is not used at the press conference. Gailey was fired because the front office thought this was a playoff team and didn't make it so next year should be playoffs or marrone is on the bubble. I know that sounds harsh but really how could you sell another losing season when you fired your last coach because he had the talent to get to the playoffs and didn't make it happen? Russ just backed himself in a corner with this hire if the team is not at least 9-7 next year.

Past performance isn't a perfect indicator, but its nu far the best one we have. You can't keep doing the same things and expect different results. This wreaks of doing the same thing.

Anyway, instead of locking yourself into the "I hope the guy fails so that I can prove I'm the message board champion" role, how about hearing Marrone's ideas, seeing who he hires, and seeing what moves are made over the next few months.
