With the Buffalo Bills (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/buffalo-bills) having already hired Syracuse's Doug Marrone, this whittles the options down to two: either Chip Kelly is the next head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/philadelphia-eagles), or Chip Kelly will be returning to Oregon.

I think the Browns are just saving face since Kelly has apparently shifted his sights to the Eagles. The real question is, did Kelly distract the Browns long enough to make Marrone the Bills coach?

If Chip Kelly doesn't become the next coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, he may never get another shot at the NFL.

Teams, owners and GMs will remember what he did to Tampa, then Cleveland and then Philly if he goes back to Oregon and won't waste their time with him.

I'm kind of impressed...the new regime in Cleveland is at least displaying they have some brains.

I disagree. The guy simply took 2 interviews and said no to both teams (Bills don't even count). No big deal. In my mind, it's a sure bet that Kelly will be an NFL coach within the next 2 years.

Let me give you some scenarios -- Next season could possibly bring some other job openings (NY Jets, Dallas, Carolina). You think Woody Johnson or Jerry Jones wouldn't try recruiting Chip Kelly? Since those markets are so big, I know Kelly would at least think about it. If Carolina calls him, he would get to work with Cam Newton. Maybe he'd go for it. Only Philadelphia would qualify as a high-profile job as far as teams he's interviewed with, but maybe there was something there that he didn't like.

Hell, there was even speculation about Nick Saban returning to the NFL. I doubt he ever will, but what Chip Kelly did is nothing compared to what Saban did.

The Browns told anyone no thanks?

News to me.
