Dave Nonis hired as Burke's replacement. Joe Cahill on HTZ FM in St. Catharines, who was watching the press conference, noted that Nonis had the deer in the headlights look in his eyes. Cahill also noted that it seemed to have been in the works pre-lockout.

He also referred to the whole scene as a clusterfart.
