Predict how the Sabres will finish

    No contests, no rewards.

Just put it out there. How do you think the Sabres will finish in the div/conference? Will they make the playoffs, and if so, how far will they go?

I say they finish 10th, 5 points out of playoff position.

4th in the conference, and losing to the ragners in the conference finals, Grigo wins ROY

Just out of curiosity, what are you guys basing this on? We ditched Roy and we have Ott and Sulzer, plus a full year of Hodgson, but is that really enough to move up 2-4 places in the conf?

did you not see the last part of muy prediction? Grigorenko has really clicked with Ott and Leino. that gives us 3 lines that are capable of scoring. i think Myers bounces back from his sophmore slump and challengs guys like webber and chara for defenseman of then year(not saying he wins but will be in consideration)

1st overall in the league. 16-6 in the playoffs.

            Someone's had to do it.
Lehner's history. He just doesn't know it yet.

Slightly more seriously...I watched the highlights, if you can call them that, of the Blue and White game on GameCenter. What was it? 1-1? Gawd...they looked like a bunch of ECHLers. I can only hope the rest of the league is that rusty. As far as I know, no one scored in the shootout either. Hell, half of them didn't even get a decent shot off.

Just to make sure I understand what you are saying: you are counting on a rookie, a guy that's new to the team who had 11 goals in 74 games last year, and Ville ****ing Leino to make the difference? Because they looked good in practice?

                Yeah, ok.....

yes, because heaven forbid, a rookie come into the NHL and plays lights out from day one... that never happens

It happens, but teams (and fans) can't count on it happening because it usually doesn't.

And when it does happen, it's usually on a talented roster where there is less pressure on the rookie to score. We don't have that kind of talent.

Right back to the old Bz mantra of using the exception to prove the rule. "Well, it's not technically impossible, so it will happen!"

actually in hockey its more the rule than the exception, crosby, malkin, ovi, skinner, tavares, nugent hopkins, kane

Grigo is a top of the first round pick, not some 5th rounder

i have them at 9th...3 points out. typical lindy team...expect a lot of success at the beginning. a couple games lost on poor effort. Team says "we know we have to fix it." they don't. By Mid march they are 8 points out of a playoff spot. last two weeks they'll be in striking distance...and then they'll fold and lose the last two games, and miss the playoffs.

we'll all say, "wow, at least hecht is off the team forever." and then darcy will "teach" us hockey by resigning him to chris kelsay-like contract. Hecht wears number 94 for the following 3 year contract.

Also, miller continues to be a one man show where he either is on fire winning games, or on the verge of throwing the entire team under the bus. Sabres brass and coaching continues to have no idea how to deal with him.
