The Bills have plenty of money to spend, but a big chunk of that will be spent on Levitre & Byrd. There should be no problem signing a FA like Bowe with the money that will be saved by cutting deadwood on this team.

I'm not sure it's even necessary to cut anyone to sign Byrd, Levitre, and Bowe. ESPN says 20.6 in cap space before any roster moves. All depends on how they are structured.

Cutting Fitz saves like 7 to 10 mill next year (2014) so contracts this year can be structured to lessen cap hit this year with paying more next year and in future years.

And Fitz is likely gone which adds back another 4.5 this year alone.

Everything that I've seen says we only save 500k on Fitz in 2013 if we cut him.

I cut him even if we owed more.

I have not looked at a list of impending free agents, but am I crazy for wanting to re-sign Levitre and Byrd more than any impending free agents out there?
True fans want wins, not draft picks.

Would that be including getting Byrd and Levitre re-signed Clump?

                        2 things...

                        1) The option is always there for the June 1st designation. I'm a little fuzzy on the details, But I believe the Bills would have around $4.5M cap savings this season... But it would cost them around $4.5M against the cap in 2014. In addition, the actual cash savings would only be around $4M.

                        2) Without the above designation, $500K cap savings is pretty close. But the Bills would save over $7M in actual cash... That's significant and can't be downplayed.
