Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson wants to see the team bring in another quarterback to give QB Ryan Fitzpatrick some serious competition for the starting job. "Because competition brings out the best in us," Johnson said. "If we went out and got another quarterback, who knows what'll happen? Fitz may still win, or the other guy my win. Let it happen like that." However, Johnson is still confident the team can win with Fitzpatrick at quarterback. Fitzpatrick was ranked 32nd out of 33 quarterbacks this year with a 27.5 completion percentage on passes that traveled at least 20 yards.

There will be an open competition this upcoming season, it's just that Fitzpatrick won't be in it.

I doubt 1 fan in 10 wants to see Fitz in any competition on the Bills. He proved last year & the year before the Bills can't win with him at QB. I would rather Marrone give someone/anyone else the QB job than Fitz.

Agreed. He's trying to find a diplomatic way to say he wants a new QB without pissing off Fitz in case Fitz ends up staying.

I want a QB competition also, I just don't want Fitzpatrick to be involved in it.

Lets assume for a moment that Fitz is the guy for another year... (nausea aside) ... What would be the big deal if he was pissed at Stevie Johnson? He wouldn't throw to him? Really? Who else is he gonna throw to? The WRs don't offer many good options other than Stevie.

Stevie & Fitz are friends & Stevie knows much of his success was because of Fitz. I think he really thinks Fitz is a good QB & he could win a QB competition, also he knows Fitz & knows he can expect to get the ball if Fitz remains the starter.

I disagree. I think Stevie would be successful with any QB, and believes he'd get more long balls, more yards, with a better QB, thus his polite way of saying, 'we should have a QB competition'.

Stevie's success was because of Chan not Fitz. Chan gave SJ the opportunity to play because that loser Jauron for whatever reason played guys like Jenkins, Reed and Hardy over him when he was cleary better then those guys as a rookie.
