Starting 4-0 is unlikely but I really despise this team as much as a division rival, if not more. Their "fans" are the most uneducated, fair-weather, apathetic bunch in North American sports. Even calling them "fans" gives them too much credit. They're really just NASCAR fans looking for a reason to get drunk between races.

Hell, the Sabres have practically sold out their whole season already whereas the Canes are resorting to gimmicks to get people to show up to a game where Buffalo fans probably bought a minimum of 8000 tickets.

And yet, their "fans" lucked into a Cup because the Sabres and Oilers couldn't stay healthy. It infuriates me.

Yeah Caps fans are almost as bandwagon as the Canes, but they didn't luck into beating us in the playoffs and winning a Cup.

I will say one thing: I have to give Vanek some credit. On CoHo's goal he out worked two Canes players along the boards and his assist to Pominville was probably the sweetest goal in the league so far this year.

Other than that, it was a disaster.

And what's with the ref pinning Gerbe against the boards? The league better do something about that.

As soon as I saw that Gerbe incident, I knew we had no chance. Not that I am blaming the refs, but the refs are supposed to be neutral. After that, how could anyone on the Sabres feel like they were being treated fairly?

That kind of thing ****s with a team's mentality.

WGR keeps talking about the ref pinning Gerbe against the board since Dishnetwork sucks I had to watch the Carolina feed and I deleted the recording anyways. The Carolina feed didn't really show the play. Was that play that bad? I'll have to find it on Youtube when I get home.

He Two Fist Grabbed Gerbe's Jersey, Pushed him back like 8 Feet into teh Glass, and screamed in his face.

I was able to launch Gamecenter and "Live Screen" record the window on my work PC :), so it's not "HD" its like 696x398, the source WMV was pretty clear for it being a Live recording on a old Dual Core Intel E7400

it was a young guy that hit Gerbe from behind, so he may get some punitive action to let him know early

And don't the refs know the history to our these things in context? It was Gerbe's first game back after surgery to fix an injury that resulted from the same type of hit. The fact that he wouldn't even let Gerbe defend himself speaks volumes about the officiating.

There better be a fine and suspension, because you know there would be if the back of that jersey said "Crosby" or "Savard".

See, to me Gerbe is more trouble then what he's worth. He is too small, his size gets him in trouble, gets the team in trouble, and forces retaliation to happen, and that IMO is a losing proposition and hurts the team. I would trade him for whatever they can get.
