Anytime you wonder why the Bills sucked under Juaron, just remember the Maybin pick.

Don't you have to be something before you can be a has-been?

This is simply mind-boggling. Look, on draft day SOMEONE was going to take a chance on Maybin. Unfortunately it was us. What I don't understand is how the Jets and Bengals could be dumb enough to sign this guy AFTER seeing what a dismal failure he was.

All u had to do was turn on the god damn tv and watch on PSU game to realize he had the body of a little boy when we drafted him.

Last I watched him in college, I thought to myself... There's one hell of an explosive first step there, but he need another year in college and could benefit from putting on weight.

then he came out early.

then we drafted him.

typical.

For a 4th year minimum contract, he's a good risk. For the #11 pick, he was a ridiculously bad one.

maybin could be a piece for a team looking to add a specialist. to be a game changer at old CBA rookie prices, not worth it.

he found a little bit of success with the jets in certain games.

NOT THE DUDE...

hes, at best, a decent speed rusher on 3rd down... thats it...

horrible pick.

two rules in drafting,

1- stay away from 1 year wonders
2- stay away from a 1 trick pony...

I was pumped thinking that Orakpo was going to be that pick. Then Maybin's name was called. Whenever I hear Maybin's name I shake my head and say "it should have been Orakpo".

I agree......I thought for sure it would be Orakpo but I think the Texas link to Mike Williams may have played a role

This reminds me of the days of Mike Williams at RT. I used to sit in the stands & from day one every time Williams messed up I'd turn to my friend in the seat next to me and say "Should have drafted McKinnie". When McKinnie was available & we drafted a guy with a constant weight problem in college, then I heard the Bills call him a naturally big man, I knew we were in trouble. So years later, they make the same mistake in the opposite direction with Maybin. The moment Maybin was drafted I got a call from a friend in Dunkirk saying Maybin will be a total bust & he couldn't believe the Bills had just drafted him.
