Buffalo’s leading scorer Thomas Vanek will return to the lineup tonight after missing Sunday’s game with a muscle strain suffered against Carolina on Friday.

Defenseman Robyn Regehr has an undisclosed lower body injury, and will not play tonight. Ruff confirmed this morning that blueliners TJ Brennan and Mike Weber will both make their season debuts for the Sabres tonight. Brennan, who has 14 goals and 35 points in 36 games with Rochester this season, spent time at today’s morning skate working as part of a power play unit.

Pegula needs to lose the mindless man-crush on both Regier and Ruff if his team will ever succeed. They're both stale as 12-month old Hostess Twinkies. Re-signing Regier was a major mistake - and it's gotten a lot of negative press nationally from sports writers/pundits. Both Ruff and Regier act like tenured civil service union teachers - complacent, secure they can't be fired, and putting in their time until retirement.

Well, perhaps, I just don't think it is possible to be as unproductive as he was last year, and he will replace a no offensive threat player like Ellis or Kaleta (since he is out) or midget in the lineup.
