while you are watching the super bowl...

hey this puts some things into perspective:
While you watch the Super Bowl ‘heroes’ today, remember the four military chaplains who on this day in 1943 selflessly ushered soldiers on a sinking ship to safety
In my day we did not have self-esteem... we had self-respect, and no more of it then we earned.

I heard about these 4 brave Chaplains when I was in the Navy years ago. Thanks for posting this story.

Dying so that others may live is something folks take with more callousness than you'd expect. Part of the self-centered nature of humanity.

BS. I did 2 tours in the Navy and was the son of a WW II Army Ranger who saw the worst of war.

It resonates with many of us. History is full of amazing people who freely gave their lives for others.
