"Captain" Pominville

Is there anyone on this team who is as much of a ****ing pansy as this guy? Do you watch his interviews? The dude talks like a battered child. He would lull to sleep a room of children with ADD who each had just drank an entire 2-liter of Pepsi. We need someone with a set of ****ing balls to be our captain.

Ryan Miller is out of his prime (post-marriage)

The dudes head is just not where it should be right now, especially after tying the knot. He spent an entire 7 months without seeing any of his coaches or teammates. What does that say to you? Pathetic.

We will not win a Cup with Lindy Ruff as our coach

Lindy hasn't had a handle on this team for years now. Night in and ****ing night out they do not come prepared to play. They are unable to get motivated and just look slow out there. This whole "protecting the lead" **** has gone on for far too long. It's time we bring in a coach with a killer instinct. The Lindy Ruff experiment is OVER. Make him vice president or something, just take him away from the bench!

Honestly, who was the last captain this team had that was worthy of it? Wasn't Rivet a healthy scratch for half a season while captain? Does it go all the way back to Drury and Briere?

Hell, I think Lindy even knows it... that's why he had been rotating captains for so long. Ott seems like the type that would be the balls-to-the-wall leader in that locker room. Hodgson is coming around, but he's just as soft-spoken as Pominville.

Rivet should never have been captain, it as an awful selection.

the players selected him because nobody wanted to be captain and he was one in his career

If what you say is true, and nobody wanted to be captain, that is even more of an indictment of the kind of no leader qualities of the players we have and Regier and Ruff should be fired just based on if your comment is true (which I do not believe, find it hard no one else wanted to be captain, many of these guys were captains of their teams they were on growing up).

may be true, but captaining in juniors when you are lights out better than everyone is an easy mantle to uphold.

when everyone is around the same level, it does become about determination to play every single day and consistently be better than everyone. And not to take credit for it but to get people to buy into the work you are putting in.

No sabre is consistent. not sabre has a heart that lives for a game 7 and is looking to bash people and be the first one to the puck. That's why they rarely win hte big games and when they do don't have the focus to keep it up.

pominville's captaincy is like cronism. a lot of guys grew up with him, like him and want to see him succeed. but they also don't mind taking off because he is their peer and they can't be held accountable.
