Eagles first-round pick Jerome McDougle is off the hook with the law in Miami.

Prosecutors there dropped a charge of resisting arrest against the former University of Miami defensive end, who was arrested in April and was accused of trying to stop the towing of a car registered to a former college teammate.

In exchange for having the charge dropped, McDougle agreed to donate a total of $500 to the Florida Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Florida Mental Health Trust Fund, state attorney spokesman Ed Griffith said yesterday.

"The situation was resolved amicably," said McDougle's attorney, Adam Swickle.
