Makes me wonder if we give Searcy a true chance or if we chase a player like Laron Landry.

We should kick Williams inside. He's built more to be a safety anyway.

So that leaves Searcy and Silva under contract.

Tag Byrd.

Clearly, the Bills were tight up against the cap and were forced to make some hard decisions. Still, better not pay market rate to Levitre!

Wouldn't mind seeing Williams moved inside myself.

Makes me wonder, however, if they are clearing specific spots for guys like Scott or Pace, and Landry.

I don't want Byrd tagged, I want him signed to a contract that will keep him in Buffalo 4 or 5 years.

Well, for one the Bills are NOT tight up against the cap & for another the decision to cut those guys was not hard at all.

Yes, the elastic on his Depends was cutting into his buttocks.
That's what I heard anyway.

When we drafted him, I was sure he would be playing Safety for us. Then we drafted Searcy, and I was confused.

You need to adjust your sarcasm meter. That said, the Bills are way under the cap yet felt a need to cut two veteran starters with no obvious replacements on the roster. But Buddy's track record says he knows what he is doing . . .

None of those guys are very good so why bring them to Buffalo?

The Bills cut those guys because they were not worth the money they would make next year. I think they cut them early as they did out of respect so they could have the best chance of landing on their feet elseware.
I have no doubt the Bills will have their replacements under contract before camp starts.

I have my doubts they will have legitimate replacements by camp. Track record is not good when it comes to moves like this.

Not playing up to their contracts? If that is the criteria for cutting someone don't you think the bar should be set a little higher with guys like, Fitz, Kelsay, Anderson, etc.? Barnett and Wilson are making bocket change compared to those guys and are more productive.

If the Bills use the additional cap space to bring in some young veterans that make the team better the moves will be justified. If they bring in a bunch of Jets rejects then we know the team is screwed.

One of my favorite plays in the decade of disgust:

Good luck wherever you may go Senator.

I really don't see us bringing in Scott.

Know how Barnett was slowing down, couldn't finish tackles, and could barely cover? Just replace "barely cover" with "can't cover" and you've got Bart Scott. Landry I could see bringing in but he really NEEDS to get his Achilles tendon surgically repaired, he's never gotten his speed back from his early redskins years and it's cost him a lot.

It certainly isn't against the norm for a new staff to bring in a few vets to help them implement their system.

Doesn't matter if Scott/Pace/Landry replacing Barnett/Wilson are lateral moves or not from an ability standpoint, or even a small step back, the knowledge and experience they bring to help fast track the learning curve pushes the value up.

Does Kelsay get the axe or does Mr. Wilson give him another $30M contract?

Yeah, Andra Davis and Dwan Edwards really helped speed up the Bills transition to a 3-4 . . .

But this time it will work!!!!

Does this give Byrd just a bit more leverage in negotiations?
