    Jints: Six Down,

July 8, 2003 -- With less than three weeks remaining before the start of training camp, the Giants have been one of the NFL’s most active teams as far as signing draft picks. Of their 11 overall picks, the Giants have already signed six players selected in rounds five through seven.
As expected, the higher picks are slower to sign. At present, the only first-round player signed throughout the league is Carson Palmer, the first player taken, by the Bengals. No second-round picks have signed, and only a handful of third-rounders have agreed to terms. For the Giants, first-round pick William Joseph as well as Osi Umenyiora (second round), Visanthe Shiancoe (third) and Rod Babers (fourth) remain unsigned.

"It’s really slow moving at the top," GM Ernie Accorsi said. "Their theory is, why should I take this now when I might get more later?"
