I'll apologize if this has been covered in another thread. What possibilities are out there if the Sabres manage to fire Ruff?

I'm watching the Jets game and have finally lost it and was wondering who could come in and take over. Mike Robitallie, Mike Foligno, Craig McTavish, Guy Carbonneau, Marc Crawford, and Rob Ray come to mind as possibles. I'll admit that the Ray, Foligno and Robitallie would be off the wall and risky choices.

I've been defending Ruff but something needs to change - FAST!

Teppo Numminen!

I say give Chris Drury a Call... that way we have a decent captain in the locker room one way or another.

you guys totally missed it. Mccormick got released because he's the new head coach.

Mr. P already tweeted/updated facebook by saying Ted Nolan will not be the next coach.

thoughts that this will squared away before thursday's game? or are we thinking interim coach until a proper search is completed?

Definitely. Patrick will coach at least through the week.

i think this puts Darcy on the hot seat too, even though he just signed an extension, so if thats the case, they dont let him choose the coach until they're sure he's going to stay

Until the rumors of Rolston I was thinking Bob Boughner

Wouldn't the team stay in Buffalo until tomorrow afternoon?

i agree....reiger is on the hot seat. the way today played out, it reads to me that darcy wasn't really making the call. it seems like he was asked to make a change...he elected to scratch mccormick. That rubbed Black and Pegula the wrong way and they made the call to fire ruff and then told reiger, "you're next"

Why else would ruff skated witht he team today and why else would he comment on mccormick getting cut?

I think if rolston or whoever gets this team to start winning games in bunches, reiger keeps his gig. if they keep losing and they know the team needs a rebuild, someone else will be given the keys.

as long as we dump this chasing system, we'll be tons better.

miller likes playing 3rd period up 5 goals.... we havent done that since drury and briere left

Craig McTavish did take a very young Oiler team to game 7 of the cup.
