that's the absurdity of it all. when the teams are evenly matched the candian officiating bias sucks. but now that the sabres officially never plan to score on the power play, the refs will call 100 penalties for the sabres only to watch them give up a couple shorties.

at the end of the day a real coach in lindy's situation would say, "this is it. you've given the press conference with 'we have to do better'. Tonight is the night to do that, and if we can't, we are getting cleaned out. me, you, darcy. everyone. you are playing for your livelihood tonight."

and if they still can't put on an inspired performance, then they just don't have it. and i think we all know that, but to stop this circular reference of doing nothing and expecting different, the leafs game has to be night and day different than the first 15-20 games thus far. and they need to be consistent.

And frankly, i'd make some lower level trade. even if i got fleeced, i would trade someone for picks or prospect just to say, "time is ticking. the answers aren't in this locker room"
