Dont think he was the reason for the downfall but I wonder if that is to make room for a trade soon.

Strange move. The guy's a fourth liner- what did they expect from him?

who's going to replace him in the lineup? Grigo? someone from Rochester?

Grigs has to play every game. He needs to be on the 2nd line too, he also needs some shifts out there where Vanek double shifts.

Oh yeah that reminds me of another Lindy blunder: demoting Stafford then putting Kaleta on the 2nd line and sitting Grigs instead of.... Wait for it.... Just sitting Stafford, putting Grigs on the 2nd line and leaving Kaleta where he was.

What did Stafford do against Wpg that Grigs couldn't have done? I'm sure he could have handled passing it to a defenseman in a 2 on 1 just fine.

I totally agree.

The one guy that hustle every shift...Cut him and his bad example. Make sense.

They must want him in Rochester. That's what he gets for hustling. He was making Stafford look bad.

They can't have Grigs on the ice, He might make them lose to Winnepeg...Oh wait....

Perhaps this is the beginning of a purge

I can think of 7 or 8 other guys that should be first.

I give Cody and Ellis credit as the two guys who always hustle the most. Neither are very good though.

Maybe Ruff goes hardcore and just starts the whole 7 DMEN being dressed on a perm role?!? I mean, they have so any they can just bench who makes the first glaring mistake for the rest of the game!

laughable move. cody was an excellent 4th liner. always gives a a full effort, always a physical force. the problem is the management thinking he could be anything more.

i'd rather have 23 cody mccormicks at 2mm a season than 23 staffords, hechts, connolly's and other guys who they routinely threw more money at and performed with much less effort.

well this should be interesting. how many guys can we waive and have no one show interest in and make it to rochester. a little damning, darcy. i'm guessing, with the size of contracts (if that's an issue for acquiring teams), gerbe, hecht, stafford, wouldn't be touched if they were waived.

I think you're overstating Cody Mac's worth a bit. He's not an "excellent 4th liner". Gotta love his effort, but effort only gets you so far. The AHL is where he belongs. And that for not much longer.

but on the fourth line, he plays defensely ok. he mixes it up and can be paired with another winger to give a little scoring. He just cant be paired with another cody Mccormick.

excellent may havebeen pushing it. but for these sabres, he was execellent. more so than kaleta.
