In order:

16. C Mikhail Grigorenko. "He has a lot to learn, especially defensively, but the Sabres are willing to trade mistakes for talent", notes THN.

19. RW Joel Armia. Best sniper in the Sabre system; holding his own in the Finnish league and dazzled at the WJC. One problem: he's already got two concussions in less than a year.

44. LW Marcus Foligno. Everything isn't coming up as easily as it did for him last season, but his work ethic and desire are making up for what isn't there right now. He's also getting work on the PP.

49. C Zemgus Girgensons. He does everything at full speed, and it's cost him 2 concussions. Like Grigs, the Sabres are willing to overlook young mistakes in exchange for long-term dividends. (My add-on: Girgs is going to have to tone down the speed, or his pro career will be over before it really starts.

As for the rest of the Sabre top 10:

5. D Mark Pysyk. He has been scratched from games when the transition from the WHL has become too much, but overall when he does play he has slick skating and, in his own way, is a leader. The Sabres' scouting director notes that Pysyk isn't flashy, and his occasional brain fart is the only way you might even notice him out on the ice-simply because for the rest of the time, he's been making the right reads on plays, etc.

6. D Brayden McNabb. Showed flashes of physical play and skill last season, but his stock has dipped.

7. D Jake McCabe. Was a key part of the U.S.' WJC gold medal winning team, even if he was overshadowed by other D-men.

8. D Jerome Gauthier-Leduc. Offensive skills in the Q haven't yet translated to the AHL.

9. C Daniel Catenacci. Seems to have shaken off getting stiffed from Canada's WJC team.

10. C Justin Kea. His offensive stats with the OHL's Saginaw Spirit belie his image as a defensive pivot.

Use a few of them and some of the deadweight on the Sabres to improve the team
