Who was the last player drafted by Buffalo that stayed and retired here. I started thinking about Kelsay and I think we'd have to go pre Flutie-Era to get to another one.

Who was the last player to retire a Bill
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Re: Who was the last player to retire a Bill
You know the Bills have been a messed up organization for years when Chris Kelsay retires a Bill after 10 years and two contract extensions later. Usually during the draft when they say you can draft this guy and he will be your starter for the next decade you would think it was a great player. In the Bills case that type of player is Chris Freaking Kelsay of all people.
If only there would've been some draft people saying that if you draft Chris Kelsay he will be your starter for the next 10 years. It would've ended up true but not in the way anybody would've ever thought of that statement. Only the Bills would give an average player like Kelsay a couple contract extensions for 6+ million a year and end up being your starter for 10 years

Such a shame his heart wasn't in football. Would have been a great guy to have and still have.
