View Full Version : NFL Team asks prospect, “Do you like girls?”

“They ask you like, ‘Do you have a girlfriend?’ Are you married?’ Do you like girls?’” Kasa told ESPN Radio Denver on Tuesday. “Those kinds of things, and you know it was just kind of weird. But they would ask you with a straight face, and it’s a pretty weird experience altogether.”
It’s more than weird. It’s troubling. While on one hand teams try to throw players off the prepared answers that make them seem as complex as a cardboard cutout, on the other hand that effort should be undertaken without touching on inappropriate subject matter.

You can't ask that at any job interview...if someone wanted to make a stink about it I have to think they have a pretty good case.

Sexual orientation is increasingly irrelevant to most Americans. Especially young people.

But you gotta remember. The NFL is run primarily by rapidly aging white males; AKA lumbering dinosaurs who don't understand that society has changed since 1970.

We straight up need more gays in the NFL.

Did you see the way Nike vandalized our throwback jerseys last season?

What's with the crudely rendered v-neck white collar?

If gay dudes ran the NFL, you wouldn't see an egregious affront to decency and good taste like that. Total fashion faux pas.

That's a really, really personal and violating question for what amounts to a job interview.

Absolutely disgusting that they even asked it.

I agree & it is ironic that to see two HOT women smoochin, that is HOT.

I still don't get what being gay has to do with the man's performance on the field.

Absolutely nothing.

But the NFL, and really sports in general, are antiquated when it comes to social progress.

There is a reason Jerry Smith, who at one point held every single receiving record of note for a tight end, has never even SNIFFED the HoF. You don't really even have to guess why.

Nothing. It is in the locker room where being gay would be a problem for many players IMO. I have no problems with gays myself, but I would not want to shower with them.

Pro sports are not real life. Many times the people playing are not the smartest people either, they are just physically gifted. Seriously, when there is a gay player out there, what the heck are they going to do? Is that player going to have report every player that calls him a *** during the game, because he would get called that 100 times during the game. Would they kick fans out the stadium because I guarantee drunk hooligans will call him that 1000 times during the game? That will happen. Will people go all tattle tail in the stands when some guy yells ***, because that will happen.

No wonder no player wants to come out. People saying we are close are crazy IMO. I personally don't care, we have tons of gay friends, me and my wife just got back from a casino trip and gambling pals who went with us are a gay male couple and a lesbian couple were bridesmaids and maid of honor in our wedding.

People are cruel, and the it is not the smartest group of people attending football games either.

I guarantee those running football in reality do not want gay players, neither does a person in charge of security at stadiums.
