    Notes:
    The final roster features:
    1. A young QB of the future who plays now
    2. Big, dynamic outside play-making WR
    3. A rookie LG who has shown to be a technician and strong at the point
    4. Improved depth at TE including an athletic rookie to add a second receiving threat. Smith stays on for blocking.
    5. A OL that retains it's starters with the exception of LG
    6. CJ as the feature back
    7. Retained a strong DL
    8. Added a dynamic leader at ILB
    9. Added a very athletic rookie OLB who has the speed to keep up with the TE's
    10. Added a young vet CB who can battle for the #2 CB job
    11. Retained McKelvin for CB depth and to be the primary returner
    12. Added a hard hitting SS who's coming into his own
    13. Retained our stud FS Byrd

The defense got experience and proven talent at LB and in the secondary, the offense got young talent at QB and added more receiving weapons. The defense still lacks depth at LB and may still need a better OLB. But overall should be stronger against the run and pass and start to improve their rankings. The offense may struggle early under a rookie QB but may start to pick it up toward the end of the year. Yes, it's a lot of eggs to put in the rookie QB's basket but recently teams have shown you can have success early by starting even non-first round QB's. The next year will likely be another non-playoff year unfortunately as we develop our young QB on the field and adjust to all new coaches, playbooks, and schemes.

The adjustment is already taken into account...the manner in which I've consistently seen it displayed is not being added to the top end of the cap figure, but rather reducing the dollar amount already allocated toward the cap.

As for X's detailed roster projections, I'd rather keep S.Johnson on the d-line, and consider cutting Lindell, R.Martin, C.White, and re-sign D.Nelson.

The unadjusted cap is the reported $123 million. The Bills carry over adds $9.8 million thus the Bills adjusted salary cap is $132.8 million

$132.8 million is the starting number that should be used

Not arguing, but it's semantics...as I stated, the SOP seems to be subtracting it from the current allocated dollars, not adding it to the cap. Six of one, half dozen of the other except for the fact that the cap is a set dollar amount currently at the reported 123mil.

Carryover is a cap adjustment that adds cap sapce.............every team starts at $123 million then their cap adjustments are applied to that number. Bills cap adjustment is $9,817,628 so their adjusted cap is $132,817,628

pretty clear cut and not semantics

The 19.6-22.3 included the roll-over and all moves to date. It was using the 123 and the 9.8... The total roster cap number was 108. But then theres 6+ of dead money... So it's 114 -9.8 = ~104. So 123-104 puts us at the 19 in room that I was using (all from Sportstracs numbers)... Sportrac has been just subtracting the 9.8 from the total salary.

Just noticed McKelvin is listed as re-signing, but he's not on the final depth chart.

If 123 was changed to 132.8, the statement above would be accurate............$28.4 million minus the tag for Byrd ($6.916 million) puts the Bills about $21.5 million under

That's because the re-signing is one of X's projections for the final roster, not a reality.

I'll just change the wording to: "The Bills are between 19.6 and 22.3 mill under the 132.8 mill working cap according to the salary cap thread. This includes the new 123 mill cap and 9.8 mill in rollover money."

I think your draft projections are optimistic, and you confuse Mike Caussin with Lee Smith, but otherwise great post. I think I may poach some of your links and try running the numbers myself.
