I think this is echoing the sentiments of the PFT atricle that was posted earlier today. Pure speculation.

Don't see it as a rumor I think it's gonna happen.
Why keep a guy that you don't think will be the starting QB???!
I still think the Bills are taking a QB in the 1 st round in this draft...,,

NOT THE DUDE...

Word through the grapevine is Arians likes MAtt Cassel and is going to bring him to AZ when he's released. So that paves the way for us to land a good QB at #8.

Did that guy read Mike Florio's speculation at ProFootballTalk.com and turn it into "reports?" Without some documentation regarding where he heard it, I'm skeptical to say the least. That's not to say it couldn't happen.

Might as well...I'm certainly not opposed to scrapping the entire squad and starting with a bunch of fresh new faces.

The thing about cutting is that even if we have to pay his cap hit this year, it free's us up for next year. And there really is no "upside" to having the guy on the roster anymore.

It's time for fresh blood.

I hope so, even if we do our pick at 8 is Corderrell Paterson and in the second rd it will be either Nassib or Manuel for QB.

Yep. Eat the dead cap space this year. We're not gonna be very good anyway.

I'm pretty sure that between the Nix comments about needing a QB, the Tavaris Jackson extension, and Fitz's crazy contract this speculation is probably pretty accurate.

With KC going Alex Smith... I think there's a shooting match odds that either Geno or Tyler are available at 8 overall.

I agree with previous poster... That's our pick.

Wilson will be there for sure, Geno on the other hand, could land anywhere from Jax, Cleveland, Oak, or Arizona before ever getting to us

hopefully the cards take Cassel that way our odds of grabbing the guy we want in the 2nd (if thats what we're hoping for) will be there and we won't have to reach for him in the 1st or even have to trade back to the 1st.

What in gods name would the cards be thinking to take cassel? The guy is aweful.

Agreed. Let's trade them Fitz instead. He is from Arizona, it's a good fit for a team that likes mediocre QBs.

Bah, this article is just a rehash of the pft one that says Fitz could be cut.
Hardly anything new.
A trained monkey could work it out.

Fitz should be being given a Hobson's choice, restructure, or be cut, as your play last year doesn't warrant what we are paying you, and the money we save, can be used to better the roster.

Heck, in 'cash to cap' terms, the Bills would actually have $7 million more to spend in FA, by cutting Fitz. Quite how they juggle that against the cap, I wouldn't begin to know, but cutting Fitz will free up $7 million in cash, as that is what he's scheduled to get this year.

Bills could have won 16 games with anyone at QB, seriously, what did one team have less wins over the Fitz starting era? Good riddance.

Please don't use the term "cash to cap" a lot of us have PTSD.

i love that its just a rumor 3 months after our season ended that a QB who couldn't throw over 15 yards with any degree of consistency and/or accuracy won't be on the team next year.

Only in buffalo.
