"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Re: Bryan Scott Re-signs with Bills
I agree. He's a pretty good fit for the defense that Pettine ran in New York. Scott struggled as a linebacker to play the run. He was supposed to go in on passing downs, but opposing teams figured out that when he was in on so called passing downs they could simply run the ball at him and rip off big chunks of yardage. Pettine's defense calls for a big strong safety on running downs. I think Scott can work in that role because he'll be more protected than he was in Wannstedt's 4-3. On the other hand when opposing defenses pass the ball on "run downs" Scott, even though he's pretty big and has lost a step over the years does have a lot of background in pass coverage, having played cornerback in college and I think early in his NFL career. As DraftBoy said, versatility is a trait that Scott possesses, and it can be pretty useful even if he's not quite the player he used to be.I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
